Vanguard Commendations are a currency introduced in The Dark Below. They were awarded to Guardians via Kadi 55-30 upon ranking up in Vanguard reputation and used in conjuction with Vanguard Marks to purchase gear from the Vanguard vendors in the Tower.
Vanguard Commendations are no longer obtainable and Vanguard vendors will not accept them. Existing Vanguard Commendations can each be dismantled to provide a +250 boost to Vanguard reputation.[1]
