Rift is a new gamemode in the Crucible (Playable w/o Taken King). A 4v4 classic of capture the flag, but with a spark. This takes a lot of teamwork & shows if your team (or a bunch of individual players) can play or not. Here are a few tips for helping you/your team:
You only:
- Don't always take the spark (unless you're very excellent of maneuvering while being shot): The reason why I say this is because if you keep taking the spark all to yourself, they might get mad at you and leave you to dry. Let others have a shot, maybe they're better at manuvering than defending you.
- Be near of the spark: This helps you control the middle of the map (or where the spark is located) from any opponents that are near you.
- Vertical Space is required if having the spark: (Now that isn't required, but I will tell you) Most of the time, you'll be running to get to the opponent's side, but there will be many enemies defending the base, so vertical space will be a key part. Most average players don't know how to aim and kill the person in mid-air as easy as running kills.
Team of 4:
- Know your positions in the gamemode: If you can maneuver real easily & know the maps really well, then be the spark runner, if not, you're either the defender, or a clearer (clearing the path before your teammate gets the spark). That will come in handy because if you just have (in your team) randomly pick up a spark & don't know how to maneuver, then you guys will probably lose.
