For some people in the crucible, they don't know how to use some weapons. These are my ways to use the Auto Rifle correctly.
1st Tip:
Don't go Rambo. I've seen many people try to run in a bunch of targets and go haywire, and they pretty much die, without killing anyone else. YOU MUST HAVE A PLAN. If you're 1v1, medium range fight, engage. You pretty much have the advantage. Long Range and short range, don't. Medium range is the best for any Auto Rifle (EXCEPT THE KHVOSTOV, LITTLE TO NO RANGE). Aim near the head at medium range (Unless using SUROS Regime, then aim at the head). If you are at situations like short or long, short range, you must hit the head. They might have shotguns or hand cannons that can out-class the Auto Rifle. In long ranges, near the head.
2nd Tip:
The weapons. You can't be using the Khvostov because the weapon became useless after the patch. Weapons like the SUROS, Shadow Price, Vanquisher VII. You need weapons that have good impact to rate of fire ratio (Slower rate of fire, the higher impact), middle range, really good stability, and good clip size. You must also know how to control your weapon. With no control over your weapon, you will die more than you kill.
3rd Tip:
Persicion. you need to aim persicion more than body. Since the nerf abomination, Auto Rifles have become what is known as "Water Guns" and they shoot less damage. You need to aim head because the multiplier is way to high for weapons and hitting headshots will win 1v1 matches every time. It maybe hard to aim headshots sometimes, but when you have lower health than the opponent and you kill him with a head shot. Now that's a clutch.
