The Dark Below is a downloadable content (DLC) expansion pack for Destiny.[1] It will be released on December 9, 2014[1] for $19.99[2] and will contain content that will remain exclusive to PlayStation until at least Fall 2015.[2]

In addition to new weapons, The Dark Below contains armor that can boost a Guardian's Light level to 32.[1] A player's Guardians will also gain five additional bounty slots.[1] A new character named Eris will appear in the Tower and provide access to new bounties.[1]

  • The trademark for the expansion was filed in 2013. Activision had Blizzard Entertainment file the trademark,[4] which led to some confusion as to whether the expansion was related to World of Warcraft.[5]
