"My mother had a shotgun we called the Chaperone. Kept us alive out there, before we got to the City." —Amanda Holliday
― In-game description

The Chaperone is an exotic shotgun that can only be obtained by completing the quest Jolly Holliday. It can be dismantled to generate Glimmer, Weapon Parts and an Exotic Shard.

Trivia[]

  • The original Chaperone was a weapon used by Amanda Holliday's mother during the family's trek to The City. While it was lost when it was buried with its last owner, Holliday was able to recall every detail of the design. Now, a perfected version is manufactured by Tex Mechanica.[1]
  • This is the 2nd shotgun introduced in Destiny that can deal precision damage. The other is Universal Remote.
  • From the way the gun looks and how you need to be accurate with it for it's full effect, this gun could be a reference to The Ambassador weapon from the game: Team Fortress 2
