Weapon damage variancesEdit
I've noticed weapon damage on identical weapons may vary, both sellable and loot. Weapons with special damage (solar, void, etc.) are sometimes sold/picked up with another special damage.
I believe the range should be accurately listed for each weapon. Also note the price of weapons increases according to the damage. The level needed to carry the particular weapon also varies according to the damage (this should also be listed for each weapon).
- Yes, you're 100% right. We need to accurately describe this, but I think we're still in data gathering mode. We know that there are variances even for the same weapon or piece of armor, but if there is a "system" for it (or maybe just randomization within certain parameters), we don't know exactly how it works yet. We have not yet gotten specific answers from Bungie on how this works (it happens for armor too), so for now we'll just have to gather data on particular pieces of armor and weapons and enter the ranges manually as we find them. I'll continue looking for some specifics on the way weapon and armor stats/prices work. Thanks for pointing this out! Foman123 (talk) 01:52, July 20, 2014 (UTC)
- The glimmer prices in the shop are very simple for common/uncommon weapons. The cost of a weapon will always be x for y damage. Two different weapons may have the same damage and cost the same. I think this also applies to the required carry level (anything over z damage requires w damage to carry).
- Pickups is a different story. I'd be interested to see if harder enemies drop better weapons or weapons with more damage. Androo123 (talk) 19:41, July 20, 2014 (UTC)
Weapon Type OrganisationEdit
Currently the weapon categories on this page are organised by Primary, Special and Heavy.
However, the current organisation has an issue. Some exotics such as the Universal Remote (primary shotgun) are under the shotguns category, however it is also a primary weapon (unlike most shotguns) and as such will not be under the correct category (only under this article).
Anyone got any ideas for as to how this organisation could be inproved?
