After long thinking about how to edit/clean/update this page, I did some actual research on what Vanguard means in Destiny.
Apparently, Vanguard was confirmed by Bungie to be a player class, possibly along with Titan, Warlock and Hunter. Vanguard may also be a faction, similar to the FWC, that makes weapons and armor, as confirmed by Destiny's pre-order bonus. Additionally, according to the actual Vanguard article, it seems there are "three Guardians who are considered the best of their respective class" and reside in the City, but I believe they are simply notable members of the aforementioned faction, since the only thing to back it up is a location of the "Vanguards" in the Tower.
As such, I think the "Vanguard" artilcle should be split up into two different articles: Vanguard (class) and Vanguard (faction), at least until more confirmations as to what exactly "Vanguard" means in Destiny are released. Unless there is a more logical idea? OutrightUndead (talk) 17:44, August 24, 2014 (UTC)
- Everything that says Vanguard is a player class is from E3 2013. Based on Alpha and Beta gameplay and Bungie's silence on the supposed "Vanguard class," it sounds like things have changed since then, and Vanguard is now just a faction like any other, except this faction consists of high-ranked NPC Guardians.
- At this point, I don't think we know enough about Vanguard to justify creating separate articles for it. Until the game launches and it's confirmed whether or not it's also a player class, perhaps we could re-organize the information in the article into a "class" section and a "faction" section. -- Vektor0 (talk) 19:43, August 24, 2014 (UTC)
