Item Images

A significant portion of the item articles on the wiki require images, or better quality images. The easiest way to help is by uploading screenshots of items you find in game.

But before uploading, keep these points in mind.

Show/Hide Points
  • Please appropriately name the image before uploading. For items, this would be the name of its article.
EG: A screenshot for Murvaux Type 0 (Chest Armor) would be named Murvaux Type 0 (Chest Armor).png as opposed to something like 20160409_001.png
  • When uploading, go to Special:Upload and fill in the forms.
  • For items, hide the UI by pressing down on the left thumbstick.
  • For armor, set your shader to default.
  • Unless the subject is the "Colorblind Mode" feature, set it to off if your using it.
  • OPTIONAL: For screenshots with the best contrast, set the in-game brightness setting the 4.

For articles marked as in need of images, use the following Category tree.

Show/Hide Screenshot Guides

Screenshots on Xbox One
Below is a short guide on how to easily access screenshots taken on your Xbox One.

  1. Take the screenshot.
  2. Go to Xbox.com and sign in, if you haven't already.
  3. Click on your gamertag in the top right corner.
  4. Scroll down and under "Screenshots" click on "View All".
  5. Click on the screenshot you want to retrieve.
    • If the screenshot your after isn't there, wait a few minutes and refresh the page (F5).
  6. Right click on the screenshot, and click on something like "Save picture as".
    • From here, just save it where you want, upload it to Destiny Wiki at Special:Upload, and add the image to its respective article.

Screenshots on PlayStation 4
I (Silicon Soldier) do not have a PS4, so here is a VERY ROUGH guide.

  1. Take a screenshot.
  2. Head to the "Capture Gallery".
  3. Copy your screenshots over to a USB drive.

Shader Articles

Shader articles (all can be found via the Shaders Category) have been created using information from the Destiny API, however they are incomplete.

  • Specific details for each shader need to be transferred from the Shader article.

Emblem Articles

Some Emblems need to have their pages created, and their details transferred from Emblem. All created Emblem articles can be found in the Emblem Category.

Miscellaneous

Patrols are just one of those things we have to do as loyal Vanguard members. Uphold the honor of the Tower, keep the Dream of the City alive, and... yeah.

We have several flag templates that are used to identify articles as needing improvement in particular areas, and add categories to make them easy to locate.

  • Article orphans are not frequently linked too. Help by linking to these articles where appropriate on other articles.
  • Article stubs are light on information. Help by adding information about their subject to them.
  • Articles needing citations are lacking references to external sources that verify the information on them. Help by locating reputable sources that confirm that the articles information is valid. If the information turns out to be false, then correct it and add the source of the information.
  • Articles needing cleanup need, well, clean up. They may be disorganised, have formatting issues, or not follow the wikis style guide.
  • Articles needing images. Its not just the sea of item articles that need images. Help by finding images for the articles in this category.
  • Articles with conjecture contain information that has been drawn from speculation. If accurate information is available, help by eliminating the speculation, and adding the truth.
  • Articles with outdated content need to be updated to reflect changes. Help by doing just that.
  • Articles with unofficial information are generally articles that contain datamined information. In time these articles subject may become publically available. If this has happened, you can help by adding official information, and separating or eliminating unofficial information.
  • Candidates for merging need to be checked, and/or merged into the proposed article. Once (and if) and article has had its information merged, mark it for deletion by replacing the merge template code ({{Merge|<article>|<date>}}) with {{Delete|<date>}}, where <date> is replaced by todays date.
  • Candidates for splitting need to be checked, and if required split into 2 articles. This can include articles that have enormous, and item articles that have become corrupted with data from 2 separate items with the same name.

There is also Destiny Wiki:User Requests, a pin-board where every user can make suggestions for article improvement.
