The motion tracker is a HUD element which assists the player in locating nearby points of interest.[1] Enemies, allies, vehicles, and goals appear on the radar in various forms. The radar can be disabled by certain enemy abilities such as flashbang grenades, and is hidden when aiming down a weapon's sights (although some equipment perks allow it to remain visible).


The radar does not display the exact location of enemies, but rather gives a general hint as to the direction and range at which they may be found.

Crouching and cloaked enemies only appear sporadically on the radar, giving momentary flashes of their position.


Non-enemies also appear on radar. If one is near enough, it will appear as a dot showing its position, and when further away it will appear as a small arrow pointing in its exact direction. Members of the player's fireteam are green, while neutral players and vendors are blue.


Vehicles appear on the radar as large colored dots: red for vehicles piloted by enemies, blue for those piloted by allies, and white for idle. When detected at long range a vehicle's radar trace will point exactly towards it, and will smoothly move around the radar display as its relative position changes.


A navigation point to which the player has been directed will appear as a grey arrow on the border of the radar when distant, and as a diamond when nearby. If the destination is on a different elevation, the diamond will have an inset arrow pointing up or down.
