You contacted me more than two years ago on the german Destiny Wiki about a program you used for all the weapons and armors in Destiny. Unfortunately I wasn't active on the Destiny Wiki at that time.
Would it be possible to get access to that program/bot now to use it on the german wiki?
If there is anything I can do to help assist you on this project, let me know. I'll be contributing a bunch of content on the whole lifespan of this game. Let me know if you need anything, my man! TheBlueRogue •(profile)•(talk)•(firstname.lastname@example.org) 21:36, August 20, 2017 (UTC)
Yeah definitely long time no speak man! I'm doing well thanks, I hope you're keeping too.
I've already got the API roll out booked in the calendar for Wednesday evening. I'm going to check out what they've jigged and see how I can translate it to the bot. I should have the bot ready to run on release.
At the moment I'm just waiting on a ticket to be looked at so I can change the way the bot uploads images.
I just posted a blog post Volunteer Curator Project here on Destiny and I'm wondering if it'd be ok with you and the rest of the admin team if I posted a community corner message about it. We're hoping to attract Destiny news fanatics to help round out our Destiny coverage on Fandom.com in advance of the Destiny 2 release.
Hi T3chnocide! I'm Mike with the Community Development Team at Fandom. We met last year in Poznan - I hope you are doing well? We are wondering if Destiny Wiki would be open to the possibility of having a temporary wordmark for the weekend of Feb 10 to Feb 12. The wordmark will incorporate the branding of Mega Construx which produces official Destiny merchandise. Currently, this is only a possibility and we are trying to gauge interest. If you agree, the wordmark will be designed by Fandom, and you will get the chance to approve any design before it gets uploaded. Let me know what you think!
Hey Mike. I'm really sorry this took so long to get back. I've been extremely lied up recently! I'm not sure if this is still a go ahead, but we'd be ok with this? Alternatively, in future you can contact my colleagues Vektor0 and Silicon Soldier. Again, sorry for the late reply :(
Hey, thanks for the message! I'm assuming that you're talking about this page: User:DestinyWikiBot/Update? If so thanks for going through it. I haven't worked on the bot to support this yet (I changed the code a few months back to work off of the Destiny manifest rather than servers).
Since they are publically accessible on the Bungie.net Armory (i.e. searchable), it should just be a matter of T3CH running the bot. He's currently improving the bot for just this task, so the bot should get onto it soon.
No grinding necessary actually. Bungie managed to strike a good balance with it (for once). Nothing like the "collect Hadium Flakes, and other materials" like with the sword quests. Of course, that also means it ends rather quickly. XD
Your welcome to use the images we have on the wiki! It would be a bit of a double standard otherwise, given that technically Bungie owns the majority of the images on our site. Just be sure to cite the source, and copyright info, if its available.
The only exception to this would be any images that expressly states that the author has granted only Destiny Wiki permission to use the image. You'll need to contact the original creator in these situations. There are few (if any) of this sort of licensing in effect, so this shouldn't be an issue.
