Trivia[]
During Bungie's gameplay demo on the Sony stage at E3 2013, this weapon was referred to as "Shut Up and Get Behind Me" by Jason Jones,[1] and during a separate gameplay presentation, it was referred to as "Better Than Yours" by another Bungie employee. This led to some confusion as to the weapon's name, but employees at E3 2013 confirmed during a closed-doors session that these names were made up as jokes.[citation needed]
Patience and Time was formerly known as Closing Time.[2]
Tom Doyle described Patience and Time's history as being originally "owned by a group of survivalists operating on the new frontier."[citation needed]
Patience and Time's rendering uses everything in the Destiny engine's upgraded palette. According to Doyle, "Dave Stammel really wanted to push our new shader system with this weapon. We have as many different materials as possible on this asset: gunmetal, plasteel, wood, plastic, and ghillie netting. It showcases the rendering strength and diversity of our new engine."[citation needed]
